What is an affiliate program? How does it work?
An affiliate program is a revenue sharing program where the affiliate (that’s you!) drives traffic to a merchant’s web site (that’s A Good Read!) in exchange for referral commissions. When a visitor to your site clicks on the affiliate link to my site and completes a purchase, you get a commission on every item they buy!

Who can participate?
Just about anybody except for people who reside in the states of New York, Rhode Island, Colorado and North Carolina because of their sales tax laws (aka Amazon Tax Law). I’m sorry about this and when Amazon wins their case this restriction will be rescinded.
If you run a large commercial web site, a small personal blog, a non-profit site, or anything in between you’re welcome to join the program. I also welcome owners of “opt-in only” e-mail newsletters. There are only a couple of things that I will not tolerate:
* There will be absolutely no spam allowed.
* No false claims will be made about my products.
Should you violate these two rules, you will be banned. No exceptions. My reputation of integrity is extremely important to me. |
Does it cost anything to participate?
No! As long as you are an active affiliate, all you need to do is keep linking and collect your commissions. |
How do I get started?
Click on Signup, fill out the registration form. Your application is then looked at and when approved, you will receive an email with further instructions. |
After acceptance, then what?
You will be given a link to your Affiliate Center where you will see your affiliate link. You can use this text link on your site or you can use any of the graphics I provided by copying the html code and placing (pasting) it where you like on your site.
The creatives can be used as posts or emails.

How are sales tracked from my site?
You’re given a unique affiliate ID as well as custom-formatted links that will ensure that traffic coming from your site is properly tracked.
A Good Read maintains a 180-day cookie, meaning that if a visitor clicks on a link from your site and it's the first time they have clicked on a link to A Good Read, you are credited with the sale as long as the visitor purchases within 180 days. |
How much will I earn? How and when do I get paid?
All affiliates earn commissions of 55% based on whether your referred visitor purchases a product from A Good Read, with a cookie length of 180 days.
For products with a 60 day guarantee, you will be paid on the 15th day of the third month after purchase. For instance: A full 60 days must elapse before you're paid; therefore, you will be paid either on March 15th or April 15th depending on when the customer purchased in January.
For membership products which do not have a guarantee, you will be paid on the 15th day of the second month after purchase. |
Why do I have to submit a tax form? Can you help me fill it out?
Any person or company earning more than $600 in affiliate commissions is required to report these earnings to the IRS. I believe that all A Good Read affiliates can earn this amount quickly and easily within my program and, on my end it’s easier to have this form on file for when you do hit that amount. If I do not have your form, your commission will not be paid until I do. You have to know, I was a former IRS Revenue Officer and Tax Consultant for years so I know better than to ignore this law and not have this form available should the IRS ask for it.
Unfortunately, I am unable to offer specific instructions or tips on how to fill out the tax forms. But if you look at the form that applies to you, it’s very EZ to fill out.

How do I create links to A Good read?
Current affiliates can get links, including banners and creatives in the Affiliate Center once you sign in. I will be regularly updating my links, banners and creatives as I add new products. |
How do I link to a specific product?
You’ll use the links provided in the Affiliate Center. All you’ll need to do is copy and paste the code where you want the banner or link on your website. |
